Mail Order tuning for ALL 97/LS1 - ENGINE SWAPS
What does this mean exactly? If you have moved a GM engine and controller into another non-OEM vehicle, this is a SWAP. If you put an LS1/2/3/6/7 into, say, a Mustang, that's a swap. If you likewise were to put that LS1/2/3/6/7 into an S10, that would also be a swap. Engine swaps for like setups (example 6.0 into 5.3 truck) can use this checkout or the checkout for internal engine mods.
Please print the following PDF form and mail it with the PCM. If
you cannot print it out, use it as a guide and include the information
with the PCM when shipping it. Typical turn-around time is next day.
Some go same-day and if work load is very high, PCMs may require 2-days
for programming.
Make sure to include the injector PART NUMBER. Do NOT describe your
injector, for example, as "42lb injectors" or what you feel they may
flow. The OEM part number is on the side of the units. Also for swaps,
include the part number of the MAF and MAP sensor if possible. These
items are especially important if you are mixing generational parts
(such as an LS3 swap with a drive by CABLE ECM) where items like MAP
sensor differences are critical.
PLEASE do not send ANYTHING except the PCM and worksheet.
PLEASE do not ship the plastic PCM bucket or the PCM seals. If you have
removed the seals, re-install them on the harness connector before
re-installation, not the lip on the PCM.
Bolt-on mods include items such as headers, torque converters, cold-air intakes, intake manifolds, etc. Internal Mods would include swapping of camshaft, cylinder heads, non-OEM style pistons, etc. Aftermarket rockers, pushrods, replacement lifters are NOT considered internal engine mods. This Internal Engine mods pricing class of tuning includes forced induction as well as all 1, 2, and 3 bar Speed Density tuning. Feel free to use our contact form if you have further questions

If your vehicle has a separate trans controller, you MUST send it in along with the engine control module.
Mail order tunes (no street/dyno tuning) consist of (this is general, the tune will be custom based on your modifications):
Rear O2, AIR & EGR delete
Fan temp adjustment
Speedo recal for different rear end gear ratio
Remove CAGS (if M6)
Auto tranny tuning including adjustment to shift speed and firmness,
torque reduction stepped down, shift-point change, changes for stall
converters
New spark/timing maps (makes HP!)
WOT fueling adjustment (makes HP!)
Improved knock handling
Throttle cracker adjustment
Many small performance oriented changes
Mail order tunes are done with a bench harness, laptop, HPTuners, Tunercat,
or EFI Live interface, and a 12vdc power supply. Mail order calibrations
are the result of thousands of hours of dyno and street testing. Mail
order tunes are typically used for bolt-ons cars including nitrous and
small cams. For more serious setups with larger injectors, they should
be used to get the vehicle into good enough physical shape to be able to
drive it around and to get it broken in or solid for dyno or WOT tuning
with a wideband. Mail order tunes are not a substitute for
wideband/dyno tuning for engines with internal mods; you must verify WOT
AFR. If you are bringing the car back to us for dyno tuning, you may
deduct $100 of the mail order tune price from the cost of a full tune!
Mail order Tuning includes free updates for 90 days from the time of
original purchase with the customer covering shipping and handling both
ways.
